Beyond The Bell
Beyond the Bell Opportunities Fawcett Elementary School
Beyond the Bell is your child’s opportunity to plug into a variety of after school academic and enrichment activities, such as sports, the arts, STEM, and mentorship. These centers are a collaboration of youth-serving community partners in Tacoma, powered by Tacoma Whole Child Partnership. Together we are dedicated to the social, emotional, and academic success of your child. We aim to encourage, support, and challenge while having fun!

Attendance, Late Arrival and Early Dismissal Procedures
At Fawcett, your child's attendance matters! If your child is going to be absent from school, please call our attendance line at 253.571.4761 by 8:30 AM.
If your child is coming to school late, please park your car in a designated parking spot and walk your child to the front door. Ring the doorbell to come and sign your child in. We will get your child to their classroom quickly.
If you need to pick up your child from school early, please call in advance so that we can plan for their early dismissal. 253.571.4737. We will let your child's teacher know so that your student can get any important paperwork before they need to leave. Again, please park your car in a designated parking spot and come to the front door. If you've called in advance, we will likely have your child ready for you at the door!
Laptops
Tacoma is now a 1:1 technology district! Fawcett has laptops for every student enrolled at Fawcett. Newly enrolling students will be issued a laptop & charger once fully registered.
At this time, families should refer to instruction from their child's teacher as to when to bring laptops to and from school. When you do bring your laptop to school, please make sure it is marked with your child's name (please use painter's tape and write your student's name on the tape), and fully charged. A full charge will be plenty to get your child through the school day.
Laptops are issued to individual students and remain with your child as they transition between Tacoma School sites. 5th grade students will take their laptop and charger with them to middle school. Elementary school students transferring between TPS elementary schools will also take their laptop & chargers with them.
If your student's laptop becomes damaged, please have them bring their machine to the office. We will repair or replace depending on the issue. Please note that repeated damage will result in the student/family being assessed a cost for laptop replacement. Laptops are checked out to students but remain property of Tacoma School District and must be returned if your student leaves the district.
